Activegamez Review

Posted by Courtney Rogers on July 3rd, 2009

Every gamer goes through the process of buying a new video game - playing it to boredom or completion and then moving onto the next game. For some, the retail value of 40 (~$60) for most new video games makes moving onto the next game a tricky task, making gaming an expensive hobby! This article will discuss several methods of buying/getting new video games available to gamers and consider whether video game swapping sites represent the best possible value to a gamer when moving onto a new video game.

Trading your video game in at a local store is one method - this will often mean losing over half the value of the game you paid in the first place. And the local store is probably going to sell your video game at a markedly greater price. So the trade in value they offer you isn’t going to get you very much at the store so you’ll still have to contribute some extra cash to get a new game. However, this process is convenient and you have your next game in hand as soon as you’re in the store!

Joining a games rental service, such as Boomerang or Lovefilm, is another option. You typically pay a flat monthly subscription fee and receive a limited number of games which you can keep for as long as you wish. The quality of such services varies greatly and the major drawbacks here are that you must keep a list of games you desire - resulting in you receiving which ever game the rental company has in stock when they receive returned games.

So the danger here is that you may not actually get the game at the top of your list. Other drawbacks include waiting a long time for that one game you want - or receiving games that are scratched to the point where your console won’t play them! Most importantly, you hand out all that cash each month and you don’t actually own anything in the end - it’s arguable that there’s better value in buying a game, keeping it until you’ve finished with it and then trading it once you’re done.

These are some of the better games that you will want to pay attention to and get so that you can get the most out of your multi-player gaming. This is the best gaming that is out there and the more popular multi-player games that gets you the best support for your gaming pleasures. Enjoy and play hard.

What Makes the Xbox 360 Run?

Posted by Larry Moon on July 3rd, 2009

In recent years the gaming consoles have become more, and more popular. However, with the rise in demand, you had a rise in price, and the gaming industry has had to become more creative with there games and systems to continue to keep the public’s interest. Microsoft was the pioneer of the seventh generation gaming consoles, releasing the Xbox 360, which was the successor to the regular Xbox which sold over 20 million units.

The Xbox 360 will come with everything you need to hook it up to a standard television, or a HD television. You will get the best quality out of a HDTV with 1080p resolution, but by still hooking the Xbox 360 to a regular television will give you the experience of new generation gaming.

You will need a hybrid component/composite cable to make it work with HDTVs which is included in both the Pro and Elite. An HDMI 1.2 cable can also be used which is included only in the Elite edition. It is also good to get a pair of stereo speakers to make the gaming experience more intense.

Once you are done setting it up, this is where you will find some of the most advanced equipment going to work. Before you do anything you need to start your console either on the tower itself or the button provided on the controller. This will bring up the user interface, that you will be able to browse things like pictures, music, video, and other games that you may have downloaded or installed. This will make it so that you are able to do these things without a built in DVD inside the optical drive, or a built in flash memory.

You can also use the interface to check out things are in any USB storage drives attached or Windows computers connected. Once you place a game disc in, you can immediately play it from there.

During gameplay, this is where the Xbox 360 really starts to go to work. The Xbox 360 uses a processor named Xenon which contains three symmetrical cores having a 3.2 GHz clock speed. This ensures that loading times are as quick as possible and frame rates are smooth. These speeds can vary depending on how well the game takes advantage of the processor.

Combined with the graphics processor named Xenos, the Xbox 360 is capable of displaying really high-end graphics providing that the game uses it to its fullest. Some of the graphics capabilities include z-buffering, alpha blending, and 4x GSAA. Unlike older consoles, these capabilities can be executed without any drag in performance.

These two main components work really hard and can heat up the system during prolonged gameplay. Fortunately, the latest Xbox 360s having the Jasper motherboard do not suffer as much heat problems as the older models that usually lead to critical red ring errors. Be sure to take care of the internal components because any abuse to them will drastically lower the performance of your Xbox 360 and in the long run prevent it from working.

The Ultimate WoW Guide Review

Posted by Guest on July 2nd, 2009

World of Warcraft strategy guides typically focus on only a single facet such as character leveling, gold, professions, or player vs player. The only guide to cover all facets of WoW is the Ultimate WoW Guide. It has more content than any other guide. This guide is regularly maintained to ensure the strategies are always current.

There are 3 sections that Dugi’s Ultimate WoW guide is arranged into. Section one is all about leveling your toon as quickly as possible whether you play  Alliance or Horde. Any strategy guide worth it’s salt uses an in-game mod, and this guide uses a great one. Switching back and forth from the game to a guide has always been something that I found extremely annoying. After using this in-game guide I’ll never go back, and neither will you.

The in-game guide is a cinch to install and it pretty much adapts itself to the character you’re using. Determining what you need to do next is straight forward since the guide walks you through all the steps you need to take. A location marker is displayed on the game map when accepting quests, and a directional arrow points you the right way. I found the in-game mod to work extremely well.

Class centered quests are also included as part of the speed leveling guide. The supplied gear spec guide is incredibly extensive and is for all classes up thru level 80. The in-game Talent Guide is exclusive to Dugi’s Ultimate WoW Guide. It works by taking advantage of templates for all of your character’s talents that can be easily chosen when it’s time to assign your talent points.

How to make gold is covered in the 2nd section of Dugi’s guide. You will gather all the gold you need while running through the speed leveling phase. Dugi’s gold making guide focuses mainly on strategies for higher level players but includes strategies that lower level characters can use too. When you’re lower level, the only thing which you need to save gold for is your mount. The Gold Guide tells you the optimal places to look for items, what dailies to do, and how to dominate auctions. It makes it easy to earn over five hundred gold per hour, which is really fast. Choosing the right professions will ensure that you make gold much faster and the included professions guide details everything.

Finally, the 3rd section of the guide is all about player versus player. I find this to be one of the coolest things in Warcraft. Regardless of which class you are facing, this guide will show you how to win the fight. Mods, macros, and talents - everything you’ll require to kick major butt in Battlegrounds is included with this guide.

No other guide comes close to delivering as much detailed material as does the Ultimate WoW Guide. Since the guide is constantly updated, you won’t need another guide after getting this one. Every single guide in this massive bundle is a winner. Highly recommended.

Here’s The Easy Way To Download Wii Games

Posted by Sam Lockwood on July 2nd, 2009

The Nintendo Wii continues to be a hot selling item, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to create a guide that you can use for downloading Wii games. You probably have learned that buying games can get expensive very fast. By downloading games for your Wii system, you’ll save yourself lots of dough, and you’ll always be able to try the newest games.

Downloading Wii games is a pretty recent development. Most Wii owners have no idea how simple it can be to download games for a Wii system. We asked our followers about this, and discovered that while almost everyone knew about downloading games and music, they didn’t know that full versions of games can be downloaded from the internet. Our readers seemed to think that only outdated or partial games were available online.

The exciting news is that full game versions for even the newest and most popular games are available for download from the internet. The available selection is stunning, and we ought to let you know ahead of time ? it’s habit forming!

OK, so let’s get started. This is how to download Wii games.

We should begin by warning you about certain websites that claim to offer “free Wii downloads”. A few of these sites are around ? you should avoid them.

If you go to these sites, you’ll soon find that what they really are is an online pool of files submitted by random users. This is problematic, because these sites are rarely monitored, and users can upload any file they like. Because of this, files are often corrupted or infected with malicious viruses and spyware that can harm your computer. You might also download a file and find that it’s not the game that you expected.

Save yourself a lot of time and trouble and avoid these sites.

A better option is to join a site that is for members only. These specialty websites provide unlimited Wii game downloads for its members.

The advantage to these sites is that their owners have a stake in keeping customers happy, so they ensure that games work, download fast, and are clean and free of viruses and other infections.

Membership fees on these sites may vary, though typically the cost is around $50. After paying this one-time-only fee, you’ll have complete access to the members-only area. You’ll have lifetime access to download unlimited games whenever you want.

One small warning: some websites charge you for each game downloaded. The main reason I advise against joining these sites is because you can get the same services by paying just one time for a full lifetime membership elsewhere.

Don’t be concerned about getting the games from your computer to your Wii system. You will receive detailed instructions and software from the membership site for transferring the games from your computer to your Wii system.

Quality sites will give you a money back guarantee to try the site and see how it works for you. Be careful though ? like we said ? downloading Wii games can be an addictive and hard habit to break!

The Learning Management System’s Journey: From Traditional E-Learning to Gamer’s Delight

Posted by Dennis Merchant on July 2nd, 2009

As the economic disaster tightens the budgets of organizations and businesses worldwide, more are turning to online training and learning management systems to handle their training.

And LMS systems are becoming more sophisticated with the increase in demand. In some ways, LMSs are starting to look more game-like in their interactive and fun-to-use features.

E-learning modules that feel game-like and interactive are growing in popularity in many professional circles. A number of organizations and institutions plan to integrate such software into their LMS training programs.

Based on the popularity of virtual worlds, it may not be a bad idea. EMarketer estimates that 24 percent of the 34.3 million million users under 19 years old participated in a virtual world at least monthly in 2007, a figure that is predicted to jump to 53 percent by 2011. As people become more familiar with virtual world navigation, these online skills, interactions and roles will translate more easily into a professional or educational setting.

The use of virtual worlds in higher education or company training may be dismissed along with the virtual world terminology of guilds, trolls and orcs. Nevertheless, an increasing number of companies have discovered that virtual worlds may be a useful learning tool.

Virtual worlds permit learners to perform tasks that may be impossible in the real world due to conditions or situations involving personal, geographical or other limitations.

A student using a virtual world can access media such as simulations, videos, and instructional demos provided by an instructor or trainer. In the form of an avatar, students can perform tasks to reveal understanding of learning material as well as interact with their peers.

“Serious Game” virtual worlds are a new genre of virtual world software that designed to teach topics ranging from frog dissection to how to fill a cavity.

When integrated correctly, software like LMSs and “serious game” virtual worlds can provide students with the means to engage in the material to a point at which traditional e-learning courses never could. With a feature-rich LMS, students have access to audio and visual information in the form of simulations, screen recordings, podcasts, and more.

Unfortunately, while virtual worlds offer vast potential as a learning system and interactive training space for professionals and students, they also have a long way to go before that ideal is an affordable mainstream reality. While “serious games” are still in the testing years, learning management system software providers are stepping up their game to offer a greater fun factor, in order to compete in an increasingly engaging online education world.

You Can Download Wii Games - Here’s How!

Posted by Sam Lockwood on July 1st, 2009

As the extremely popular Nintendo Wii keeps on flying off the shelves, more and more people wonder where to download games for it. This guide will help you. After all, buying games in ordinary stores gets expensive very quickly. If you choose to download these games instead, you’ll save a lot of money and have an easy way to try out new games.

Downloading Wii games is a relatively new phenomenon. The majority of people who own Wii systems aren’t even aware of how easy it is to get new games. When readers were polled about this, most of them know about downloading demos and music, but not all of them were aware that there were free versions out there. Most people thought that they could only get demos, partial versions or old games.

Fortunately, full games are available for downloading, from the most popular classics to brand new releases. The selection is pretty impressive, and you should be warned that downloading can get incredibly addictive.

Here’s how to get started downloading.

First, realize that you may want to avoid all web sites that advertise that they have free Wii Downloads. While there are plenty of them out there, there are reasons to skip them.

What you’ll find when you take a look at these sites is that most of them are merely networks of files that users have uploaded. Anyone at all can add a file, and there’s no moderation of submissions. Because of this, many files are infected with viruses, adware, spyware, and other malicious software. Other files claim to be top games, but are mis-named or corrupted.

These sites are responsible for a lot of frustration, and by downloading from them, you’re putting your computer at risk.

Instead, people who want to download Wii games should look into membership sites. These download sites offer specialty services, including unlimited downloads after you become a member.

These sites are regulated, and they’re run by people who want to keep you happy. That means all files are monitored, will work, and are devoid of infection. Downloading is also fast.

How much these sites cost varies a bit, but the average is about fifty dollars. This one time fee allows you to have full access as a member. You’ll be a member for the lifetime of the business, and are able to download as often as you want.

Just remember that not all membership sites charge a flat fee. Some prefer a per download or per month method, which gets expensive fast.

Worried that you won’t know how to use your games once you have them? Take comfort in the fact that a good site will give you all the tools and instructions you need to get them to work on your system, including software.

Better sites will also offer a guarantee. If you don’t like what you’re getting, just ask for your money back. Once you get used to downloading, there’s a good chance you won’t go back.

How To Copy Games - Backup Your Video Games Easily

Posted by Guest on June 30th, 2009

If you’ve ever sat down after a ridiculously frustrating day, fully prepared to spend the rest of the night immersed in your favorite game only to see the dreaded “disk error” message, you’ve probably thought about making backups of your games. Maybe you even looked into doing it.

If you looked online, you probably found a whole bunch of forum posts with links to free downloads, all of which thread out with “help, my copies don’t work” postings, which, let’s be honest, is pretty much what you expected to find in the first place.

And if you are like most people, you did not have a closer look. Until the next time one of your games stopped working, and then all you could do was curse yourself out for not following through on how to make copies.

We have to face it, discs are not undestroyable as we once thought. Discs get warped, damaged, scratched. They aren’t kid proof, and they certainly aren’t dog proof. (Trust me, I know what I am talking about!) Buying another copy of a certain game, because the old one got damaged does not really make sense as it is expensive? Most of us have left a game at a friend’s house at least once and have not seen the game again since then? Taken it with you on vacation and lost it on the way home? Discs do go missing from time to time. It’s just a fact.

Making copies of your games just makes sense, and whether you’re copying games for your PS3 or XBOX 360, your Wii or your PC, you expect those copies to work exactly the same way as the originals. If they don’t, what’s the point?

But it is indeed worth spending hours or even days to browse hundreds of firum posts to find a backup copy that actually works? And even if you find one, will it be easy to use, and will work across various platforms?

CopyThatGame makes perfect copies of every game, every time, and costs about the same as a single new game for whichever console – or consoles – you’re using. Start to finish it onyl takes some minutes to copy your games. The software makes a copy of every part of a game, including all extras, and even games using a hard to break copyright protection will be copied.

There are numerous reasons why it is a good idea to make back uo copies of your games and this software is the easiest most reliable out htere.

For a review of the best game copy software visit my lense at: How To Copy Games
